Electronic Weighbridge Guide: How to Choose One That Fits Your Plant

An electronic weighbridge is a large truck scale that weighs a loaded vehicle in seconds and prints the result on a slip. You pick one by checking four things: capacity, platform length, load cell quality, and after-sales support. The rest of this guide shows how to do that without paying for features you will never use.

How a Weighbridge Reads the Weight

The truck drives onto the platform and stops. Load cells under the platform get pressed a tiny bit by the weight. Each one sends a small electric signal. The indicator adds these signals and shows the total on the screen. Press a button, and the slip prints.

Pit Type or Pitless Type?

Pit Type

The platform sits level with the ground, so trucks can enter from either side. This helps on a small plot. The catch is the pit, which needs digging, concrete, and a plan for rainwater.

Pitless Type

Here the platform stands above ground, and trucks drive up a ramp. There is no digging, so it is ready sooner. Cleaning underneath is also easy.

Five Things to Check Before You Pay

  • Capacity: Pick one well above your heaviest loaded truck.
  • Platform length: It must be longer than your longest trailer.
  • Load cells: Ask about the make and protection from dust and water.
  • Software: Slip printing and camera support save time every day.
  • Calibration: Only a tested and approved scale counts for trade.

How to Pick the Best Weighbridge Company in Delhi

Call three or four electronic weighbridge manufacturers and ask each the same questions. Some will answer in plain words. Others will stay vague. That gap tells you a lot.

Questions Worth Asking

Can I see one running at another site? What does the warranty cover? Is installation included in the price? If it stops at ten in the morning, who comes, and when?

One Last Thing

The cheapest quote rarely wins. The weighbridge company is the one that still answers your call after the sale. Ask electronic weighbridge manufacturers for references.
